MANILA, Philippines—The press conference for PBL cager Jason Castro at the Saisaki Edsa was over when Paul Monozca handed me a photocopied document. He said it was a scoop, although I saw several other copies of the paper in his folder.
Paul is a Singapore-based Filipino who works for Price-Waterhouse and other business entities. He accompanied to Manila Bob Turner of the Singapore Slingers, the team that recently signed Jason to a seven-month contract in the NBL.

PHLY vs Swagger

The Air Jordan PHLY
Fila Swagger Mid
Something about Fila just makes you go hmmmm.
Although Jordan Brand makes one hell of performance shoes (especially their soles), they don’t make good looking shoes. Sure, Air Jordans are classics. Even the ugliest of it looks like a collectible, Jordans takes a little more time to get to like them.
Since the early 2000s, Fila took a dramatic down turn from the scene. Making low quality shoes that easily flakes out. But now.. they seem to be stepping up the game (much like Pony).
Take a look at these Fila Limited Editions.
In short.. the Jordan Brand PHLY looks like a rip-off of the Converse Chucks. The Swagger is just too cool for ballin and for hanging out.
