Just like the league organizers said, the PinoyIT League will be some sort of a travelling league. Playing in almost different districts to promote Filipino basketball in Singapore.
The upside.. we get to see and play in new places.
The downside(s).. it’s outdoor, Singapore weather is weird (hot.. hotter.. hottest, then rain), and no electrical power sources to plugin the scoreboards. So it’s almost like how we used to play in the barangays back home.
Don’t even get me started with the officiating.
Under-handed Dunamis loses to LinkSys AND Pinoy refs (62-81)
June 29, Henderson Road – Just when we thought that Pinoy referees will address the issue of non-calls, the matchup between the Dunamis and the LinkSys has long been over with the over-happy-whistle-blowing officials.
Barely in to the first 6 minutes of the game, the Dunamis has already turned over the ball 5 times and has reached penalty. Playing without the usual forwards/centers, the team’s reserve Glenn Plarisan shouldered the scoring load of a lop-sided 16-38 first half.
The Dunamis got a fired-up scoring effort in the third quarter, putting in 19 points behind Alex Nollora (16pts) and Renato Gaytano (7). But the Dunamis was just too short-handed to contain the LinkSys big men.
However, Joey Miranda poured in 19 points, 12 of which are 3-pointers, saved the Dunamis from a possible blowout loss. Shaving the lead down to 18, the Dunamis lose to LinkSys 62-81.
The Dunamis’ matchup between the Pinoy@Citi this Sunday, July 6, has been rescheduled to September 12.
Dunamis Boxscore: J.Miranda (19); P.Nollora (16); R.Cablao (8); R.Gaytano (7); G.Plarisan (7); M.Morfe (3); P.de Leon (2);
Forza battles Kulog@Kidlat.. and Ulan
