Converse Weapon Evo

Yup. The Converse Weapon Evo is already in Indonesia. And I think it’s been there for some time now because the Lakers colorway is on sale.

This redux of the popular Converse Weapon (made famous by Larry Legend and Magic) is aesthetically pleasing. It’s like the Nike Air Force 25 with improved cushioning. But unlike it’s competition, the Evo seems heavier.

Hopefully, they’ll release this in Singapore this 2010. The Weapon Evo Hi-cut looks nice. Let’s see if the mid and low cut are better.

The Weapon Evo is selling at IDR799,000 (est SG$119).

Converse Vamoose Ox Low

Since Wade left the Converse brand, there’s little left to expect from them but the EB2 and the Weapon EVO. While the former is an “ok” shoe that’s reasonably priced and the latter has not dropped in Singapore yet, a small yet bright spot has been nabbed by this shoe called the Vamoose.

Priced under SG$90, the Vamoose has an OG feel that’s just right for outdoor balling. Comparable to the adidas shell-toed Superstar, the Vamoose handles fine on court. From cushioning… to stability… to durability… to traction, you won’t be disappointed.

Only downside is the breathability and the inner linings that will leave chaffing if you don’t wear socks.

Other than that, the Converse Vamoose is your best but for that kicks on and off the court.

It looks like the Cavs got more than they bargain for.

ATR Make It Rain - SG$ 149

More often than not, we forget that Reebok is one of the Big Three of the sneakers industry and that they deliver solid performance shoes.

The Kamikaze, Reignman, Shaq Attack, Jams, and the Question/Answers.. all classic.

Now, here’s another one that is a low-key performer that has found its way to be worn by a lot of NBA superstars like Yao Ming. It’s the ATR Make It Rain.

A mid-cut basketball shoe with open-weave and perforated upper. Even the soles takes a hint of the adidas climacool.The DMX Ride cushions this kicks with transition bridge that enhances the heel-to-toe motion.

Kobe Bryant Asia Tour 2009

Look who’s back on top.. Mr Kobe Bean Bryant.

After some gruelling years when he was knocked off his pedestal, Kobe Bryant is now back on top.. as a NBA Champ.. as a Finals MVP.. as the Next Jordan.. or whatelse people use to call.

So in celebration of his triumph, Nike is hosting the Kobe Bryant Asia Tour 2009 with this schedule:

Nike Alpholution Cobra Commander

Okay! Yesterday you’ve seen the Nike TF2 Pack that features the Bumblebee Zoom Fun Police. And because the movie sucks big time, G.I. Joe is also banking on releasing their own Nike collaboration to stir up Joe fanatics. One upcoming release is the Cobra Commander Alpholution.

It’s a Cobra coloway for the new Nike hybrid called Alpholution. I’m loving the Cobra insignia on the tongue, but the colorway is more like for the Cobra Troopers (not for the big snake himself).

It should be more elaborate with details if it’s to represent Cobra Commander.

Nonetheless, cool shoe.

See that image? D12 was just a rookie and Kobe Bryant made sure that the noob is welcomed to the league with a complementary teabag.

That was five years ago. Time for Howard to return the favor.

The Orlando Magic beat the Celtics and the Cavaliers to make it to the finals since 1994. They maybe against great odds here (even Obama thinks so), but the playoffs has been a testament of what the Magic can do.

With that, I give the underdogs all the respect and hopefully they’ll be the champs this year.

Magic will draw first blood tomorrow.
